The Head of the Environment Agency's Fisheries Service, Dafydd Evans has agreed to come and talk to us about the new policy covering the stocking of brown trout. The EA are running a consultation on this proposed policy, which could becontroversial, and we are lucky to get the top man to explain the thinking behind it and to give us the chance to ask questions.

This is a very important event in the branches calendar so please make an effort to be there if you can. We always have an interesting speaker, this year is no exception when Fiona Bowles will speak on low flows in the Wessex Water region. Lunch is a great time to meet old friends and grab a glass or two of complimentary wine, but more than that, is the chance to question your branch officers and to hear what they have done for the branch over the past year.

The branch have once again been invited to assist in running this event for the Salmon & Trout Association. This is the biggest thing we as a branch are involved in during the year and it is incumbent upon us to do our very best to make it work - after all it is mainly our branch that benefits financially. Your assistance is needed and appreciated. All helpers will be given a free pass into the show and a chance to have a look round.

Venue: Blagdon Lake
This is the day when we fish for the Lord Darling Trophy. Normally boat fishing but if you prefer the bank you are still welcome. The evening is when we enjoy a supper in the lodge cooked by the Elaine's Kitchen team, and the captor of the biggest fish receives the trophy. A friendly day out fishing with a partner of your choice if you are boat fishing.

This is the evening when we all meet together with wives and partners and enjoy a super dinner from the restaurant at Woodford Lodge. Always an interesting speaker and a raffle where everyone seems to win a prize. 7:15pm for 7:45pm. Black tie.
